Short resume: 

Alejandro Maiche is Psychologist graduated in the Universidad de la Republica (UR), in Uruguay. After his degree, he moved to Barcelona where he obtained his PhD in Perception, Communication and Time from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2002. He was lecturer professor in Basic Psychology at UAB until 2010. This year (2010) he came back to Uruguay as a professor of Cognitive Psychology at the School of Psychology - UR and as a researcher of the National System of Researchers in Uruguay (ANII). Actually, he directs the Center for Basic Research in Psychology where scientists from different disciplines investigate about Cognition. He has published tens of articles relating visual perception and in the last 5 years much of his work was dedicated to the development of interactive web resources for teaching highly specific topics as Cognition (Virtual Laboratory on Cognitive Psychology: http://psicovirtual.uab.es/aules/course/view.php?id=40) and Visual Illusions (http://psicovirtual.uab.es/ilusions). His current research interests include Motion Perception, Time Perception and, recently, Numerical Cognition.
